Clubhouse Holiday Decoration

On a recent Saturday morning, friends of the clubhouse were on hand to put up Christmas decorations and lights. Do come by some night and take a look at what we feel is a most pleasing display. Those responsible included old hands like John and Charlotte Marsh, Joyce Bliss and Frank Toto. Kids who got into the act were Elena and Carlee. We also welcomed two new faces this year: Kathy and Diane. Please note that most of the decorations were donated by HOA families over the years.

If you have Christmas (or Hanukkah) decorations that you no longer need or that you don't want to pack away this year…..why not donate them to the clubhouse for everyone's use next year? To help brighten the clubhouse during next year's holiday season, call John Marsh to make arrangements.

Christmas Tree Pickup

On Friday, January 7th, trees can be left in the driveway outside your garage door for pickup. Please remove any tinsel and non-recyclable decorations. This is a nice benefit, please don't abuse it!

Insurance Coverage Discussion

Due to several recent requests, a representative of our insurance company will be present at the February 9th homeowners meeting to discuss coverage for the association and to answer questions from homeowners on the coverage that relates to them. Mark it on your calendar!!!

Sidewalk Work

Concrete grinding and replacement work will start on some of the uplifted sidewalks throughout the community during the week of January 18th. Other scheduled concrete work will continue through the month of February.

New Hot Tub Cover

Though the pool temperature was measured recently at 50 degrees, remember that the spa is still at 100 degrees! And it feels great! For you brave souls who dare to make it over there, you will notice that there is a new spa cover. In the morning if you're the first in, place remove and set it aside. If it's chilly, you might want to consider covering the spa when you're finished. Let's take care of this one.

Reminders

• Bicycling, skating and skateboarding are not appropriate on the sidewalks surrounding our greenbelts. Please see that your children abide by the rules. It can get pretty dangerous out there.
• Visitor parking is for VISITORS. Please review last month's newsletter concerning parking violations.
• If you have termite damage, signs of termites, or your unit is being inundated by insects of any kind, please notify Kathy at Preferred Property as soon as possible. Early detection is essential and will make everyone's life easier.
• Be on the lookout for sprinkler heads that have gone astray. Even though our landscaping has been converted to drought resistant, low-water plants, we have had an increase in our water bills, mainly due to faulty sprinkler heads. Unless being tested, they are supposed to be on for about 10 minutes at a time, usually at night. Help us all out by reporting anything you see that is out of the ordinary.
• If you are renting the clubhouse, please be cautious about the amount of noise your group might be generating. The rules state that doors to the clubhouse MUST be closed after 10 pm. Please think about it no matter what time of day it is. Some of us live pretty close and are not interested in doing the Macarena!!! Thanks.
• There have been a few homeowners (or renters) hosting their own individual garage sales. According to the VMHOA rules, individual unit garage, street, moving, etc sales are prohibited. As noted in last month's newsletter, VMHOA now has semi-annual (or close to that) garage sales that are announced well in advance. If you are an absentee owner, please see that your renters are made aware of this rule and abide by it.

Next HOA Meeting

The next homeowner's meeting will be on Wednesday, January 12th at 6:00 p.m. and all homeowners are encouraged to attend. Remember, it's always the second Wednesday of the month.
