VMHOA Website
Q:Where on the HOA web site would I find the minutes of Board meetings?
A:The Board minutes page, www.vmhoa.net/bodmin/minbase.htm, is linked from three places:
Disposing of Your Christmas Tree

If you don't want to take your tree to the drop location along Clairemont Mesa Blvd, you can place it out by your garage the night of January 7th and it will be picked up on January 8th by Weststar. Please do not throw your tree or wreaths into the canyon as they are a fire hazard.

Automatic Payment

The Association offers homeowners automatic withdrawal of monthly HOA fees from your bank accounts. If you are interested in signing up for this service, please contact Preferred Property Managers at (619) 220-8773 or send an .

A Clubhouse Christmas

Again this year, volunteers decorated our clubhouse. Included were John and Charlotte, Frank, Joyce, as well as Shina, Natsuki and Natsuki, three of the Japanese students mentioned in the accompanying article. Villa Monterey families have donated the decorations over the years. If you have decorations you would like to make available after Christmas for this good cause, please call John Marsh at the number on the mailed Newsletter.

Noise Complaints

The City of San Diego's Neighborhood Code Compliance Department is responsible for enforcing noise complaints relative to dogs, construction, people, etc. Homeowners should contact the City of San Diego at (619) 236-5500 or www.sannet.gov/nccd to obtain a complaint form that can be filed for an investigation into the complaint. The number of complainants residing in separate residences generally prioritizes noise complaints. A noise complaint from one person is considered to be a private matter between two parties and no action other than sending a voluntary compliance notice are taken. Typically, a letter will be sent to the person causing the noise and to the person filing the complaint. An officer will be assigned to the person causing the noise and they will give the person the opportunity to voluntarily comply and correct the situation. If the officer has to inspect the situation a second time, mediation may occur or a fine imposed. The first citation is $100, second $250, third is $500.

Painting 2004

Ten buildings are scheduled for painting beginning as early as March. They include four on the Antigua side of Rimpark, four on Pine Knoll Lane, one on Antigua, and a single structure on Guinda. Homeowners will be notified in advance.

Foreign Exchange Students from Japan

Five of our residents are hosting Japanese exchange students this year. The "host mothers" for these young women are Rosemary, Joyce, Jenny, Helen, and Suzi.

All of the women attend the Travel University International in the University of Phoenix building on Murphy Canyon Road. Mutsuko is from the Shiga prefecture near Kyoto. She is studying hospitality management and is interested in being a tour guide or a teacher. Mutsuko's hobbies are cooking and swimming. Natsuki is from the Fukuoka prefecture in the southern part of Japan and is also studying hospitality management. She would love to work for a cruise company. Natsuki comes from Hokkaido in the northern part of Japan. Travel & Airline is her major. She is now doing an internship at a travel agency. Nobuko, from Yokohama, a sister city of San Diego, is studying International Trade and will soon start an internship at a newspaper. She is also looking for a trade company to utilize what she has learned here. Shina's home is in the Mie prefecture near Nagoya. Her studies are in Travel & Airline and she recently moved to Hawaii to begin an internship at a travel agency. She enjoys playing the piano and exercising.

Mutsuko speaks for all of them when she says, "We are blessed to come to such a wonderful place like San Diego. We all love Tierrasanta so much! Thank you."

Happy New Year From Your Board Of Directors!
