January 2001
On December 9th about a dozen Villa Monterey residents answered the call to decorate the clubhouse with items old and new. It was a fun afternoon with refreshments for all. Should you be out walking on an evening take a turn by and see the festive look. And should you have decorations you're willing to part with contact John Marsh.
Having a party? Want to reserve the Clubhouse? If so, contact Curtis Management Company at (858) 598-9844 for any information regarding the rental of the clubhouse.
The timer switches in the clubhouse bathrooms are just not built to take the hard use that comes their way. Accordingly, we're installing switches that are motion sensitive. No need to physically turn them on of off. Just enter and exit. The lights will respond to your presence or absence.
Please report common area maintenance issues to Marysia Leu at Curtis Management Company (858) 598-9844. Clearly state your name, address, and phone number, tenant's name and phone number (if applicable) and the nature of the call.
Rule & Regulations violations you've witnessed need to be submitted to the HOA Board in writing. Do not create a confrontation. Also, do not go to a Board member's home to complain. There is nothing they can or will do for you "on the spot".
Once again, Rules & Regulations violations you've witness need to be submitted in writing to: Villa Monterey HOA Board of Directors, c/o Curtis Management Company, 10455 Sorrento Valley Rd., Suite 102, San Diego, CA 92121.
Weststar Landscape has graciously agreed to pick up your tree for recycling on January 5, 2001. If you are interested in having Weststar recycle your tree for you, please have your tree outside and placed out by the curb no later than January 4, 2001. Thank you.
Here is one of the easiest ways for homeowners to prevent problems. Clean out the dryer vent and hose! Build up of lint, dirt and the like will clog the vents and that's not good. Believe it or not, the air blowing through your dryer hose (and out through the vent) contains some harmful stuff! The hose and vents need to be clear in order for the "bad air" to escape our homes.
On the subject of hoses, other than dryers. All water hoses, gas hoses and the like should be checked on a regular basis. Once a year at the least. Cracking, rotting and other signs of pending or current leaks is what you're looking for. Replace the HOSE before it BLOWS. The expense of a replacement hose is far and away cheaper than mopping up a flooded home.
If you do not feel confident in what to look for or how to judge if replacements are needed hire a professional! Again, any charge incurred is still far less than the cost of flood damage, fire or some other disaster.
